MY 5 FAVORITE HEALTHY FOODS

In this day and age, everyone is worried about their health. And rightfully so. Although genes play a huge role in our health, what we put in our bodies is extremely important as well. I like having healthy options in my kitchen, so I won’t feel so guilty when I am eating. With that being said, I am going to share some essentials that are always in my kitchen and that promote good health.

olive oil

Extra Virgin Olive Oil- It is known to help with weight loss, energy production, and also a great source of antioxidants. Not only that, but if you are out of moisturizer, you can put a dab of this on your skin.

Chick Peas- these little things are so high in protein not to mention very tasty! I make my own fresh hummus, and even mix some of these in a salad! So good!

Whole Grain Pasta- Regular pasta is so out, and totally not worth the carbs! Trade out the original pasta for one that is made whole grain. You won’t taste much of a difference, or if you do, it’s for the better.

coffee_beans

Coffee-I don’t know why someone wouldn’t have this in their kitchen, but it is the real deal! It is an essential for me every morning for the energy, but surprisingly coffee does contain antioxidants too.

Dark Chocolate- I definitely have the need for something sweet. And instead of splurging on a high calorie dessert, I savor a piece of dark chocolate. You will be surprised how much you will feel indulged without wasting too many calories. I suggest having some of this wonderful goodness with some fresh fruit, or a glass of red wine, which is loaded with resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant!  What is your favorite healthy food?
