I have a new workout on your radar, brought to you by none other than celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson. If you are not familiar with Gunnar, you might know his bodies of work. Namely, Dwayne the Rock Johnson, Jennifer Lopez, and Angelina Jolie, to name a few.
His focus is on functional training and developing innovative fitness techniques. And he was just named the Chief of Athletics for F45, and he invited a group of us, including model and influencer Tyler Cameron, in to his gorgeous Beverly Hills home to try this challenging, hybrid workout.
It combines cardio, resistance, agility, and core movements, ensuring you get the best of both worlds for the ultimate 45 minute full body challenge. Based on a pyramid style of training, you will push yourself to the max by increasing your weights as you move through each circuit, helping you to build strength and endurance like an athlete.
Let’s just say I definitely broke a good sweat, as DJ Tessa spun tunes poolside. And the series was easy to follow, and can be done at home with little equipment, perhaps just weights. There are also over 2,000 F45 locations worldwide, so they can be accessible in-person, depending on where you live.
So yes, I am sore today, but in the best way. I feel like I worked hard yesterday, in a manageable amount of time, and I really enjoyed it. And the trainers were able to give me effective adjustments for my lower back issues, and I was still able to do the individual exercises. So why does Peterson think you should you do this workout? He mentioned to me, “It’s comprehensive, it’s efficient, and we are all vying for our time. This is the one to do.” And there you have it. You can read more about F45 here.
