La Magazine honors Kris Jenner

Los Angeles Magazine celebrated their annual LA Woman luncheon this week at the gorgeous Fairmont Miramar hotel. And powerhouse manager mama Kris Jenner was spotlighted for her charitable work with the homeless, being the matriarch one of the the most powerful families on the planet, and of course, her love of the city of angels.

The day stared with a cocktail hour and networking reception sponsored by Hendricks Gin and Tullamore Dew. Guests also had the opportunity to get personalized haikus by The Haikuist (I had one made for my daughter and it was spot on), and create custom floral bouquests to take home. And then it was time to sit for lunch!

Jenner was introduced by her bestie, Anastasia Soare of Anastasia Beverly Hills, who spoke about their deep connection and how they met. She first met the Jenner when the latter would come to her salon to get her eyebrows done with her daughter, Kim Kardashian. After that, Soare knew Jenner was special, “I wanted to be her friend.” And Kris was grateful for the sparkling intro by her BFF, thanking her for her kind words.

Then LA Mag’s editor-in-chief Shirley Halperin sat down for a fun Q&A with Jenner. Here are some of the takeaways.

That Soare had actually helped Jenner by giving her advice when she and her daughter Kylie launched the famous Kylie Lip Kits, even though Anastasia was technically a competitor. Now that’s good friend!

Jenner also joked that Irving Azoff’s wife Shelli (who was also in attendance) together would string necklaces of bagels around their kids’ necks to keep them occupied and so the two moms could eat in peace at Nate n’ Al’s deli, an LA staple.

Kris told her eldest grandson, Mason Disick, that if he didn’t do drugs nor drink before the age of sixteen that she would buy him a car.

Never a dull moment with Kris! After her Q&A was over, deputy editor Jasmin Rosemberg moderated a panel that consisted of FOX 11 news anchor Christine Devine, Clippers President Gillian Zucker, Elizabeth An and her sister Catherine An owners of Crustacean restaurant, and MTV Catfish host Kamie Crawford who all spoke about their professional journeys and shared their best advice with the audience.

It was a wonderful end to a very inspiring day honoring women!
