It’s so cool to hear when those who are privileged try to help others. And Mark Cuban is living proof of that.
The Dallas Mavericks owner and Shark Tank investor has created an online pharmacy that sells generic drugs at a lower cost than those from big pharma. His goal is to make life-saving drugs affordable for those who need them. Basically, it eliminates the need for health care “middlemen” and only charges a 15% markup from the manufacturer’s cost.
“The markup on potentially lifesaving drugs that people depend on is a problem that can’t be ignored,” Alex Oshmyansky, CEO of Cuban’s online pharmacy, said in a statement. “It is imperative that we take action and help expand access to these medications for those who need them most.”
The website currently offers 100 generic drugs to treat a variety of illnesses, including diabetes, asthma and heart conditions. Some of the largest savings are over $6000 per dose! Here are five of which you can find on the Cost Plus Drugs Company website.
