This weekend, an amazing group of actors, musicians and actors came together for Stand Up to Cancer, a star-studded movement to help raise funds for groundbreaking cancer treatments aimed at saving lives. The one hour live telethon ran commercial-free on CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX and was produced by Emmy Award winner Joel Gallen and Gwyneth Paltrow, whose father Bruce, passed away from cancer several years ago.
Celebrity participants included Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Matt Damon, Jessica Biel, and Tom Hanks.
Hanks had the privilege of introducing Hillary Quinn Kind, an extremely brave and inspirational, eight-year melanoma survivor who recently chose to discontinue her grueling treatments in favor of quality of life, even if that means her time on Earth is short. On her bucket list: get married, have kids, go skydiving, and meet Dave Matthews (who is a personal fave of mine!) So Dave, if you are reading this, there is one very special lady who deserves to meet you! Click here to learn more about Stand Up to Cancer and how you can help.
