Early birds may get the worm, but celebs and supporters alike rallied together early Sunday morning for a much more worthy cause—the tenth annual Run for Her 5K Fun Run and Friendship Walk. Lynnette Romero, news reporter and anchor for KTLA, acted as the 2014 Host, and Alicia Quarles, correspondent for E! News, acted as an Ambassador.
Other celebrities like Karina Smirnoff, Charlotte Ross, Emma Slater, Bresha Webb, and others all came together to lend a hand (or in this case, a pair of legs and some cardio stamina) to the cause that supports ovarian cancer research and awareness. The event first came about 10 years ago, inspired by founder Kelli Sargent’s mother’s losing battle with ovarian cancer. Sargent partnered with Cedars-Sinai back in 2005, and although her mother Nanci passed away from the disease, her strength has inspired others through the Run for Her cause.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Women’s Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai’s Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. If anything could get me out of bed at 7 on a Sunday, it would be this! Here’s to ten years going strong!
