RED CARPET ROXY’S “RED ALERT” OF THE WEEK-CHICKEN JERKY TREATS

You may have heard the recent media reports of dogs falling ill, and in some cases, dying after consuming chicken jerky treats (duck and sweet potato treats as well) imported from China. While this is still an ongoing investigation by the FDA, the evidence presented by grieving owners and concerned individuals is quite alarming. Since 2007, there have been at least 2,200 reported cases of illness and 360 deaths in dogs and one cat after pets ate these treats. Still, there has been no recall of the products in question.

But that has not stopped some owners who believe that they have lost their beloved animal companions to the the effects of consuming these treats. Many have launched homegrown campaigns in an attempt to pull these food products manufactured in China from the shelves of local retailers, and to make the public aware of their plight.
