Cancer. Nobody likes to talk about it. But thank goodness some people choose to, such as Angelina Jolie Pitt. As you may recall, the stunner had a preventative double mastectomy nearly two years ago, and just last week, Jolie had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in an effort to halt the occurrence of ovarian cancer, a disease which her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away from in 2007, as well as took the lives of her aunt and grandmother.
And now she wants to share her experience with other women to encourage all of us to get screenings. She wrote an Op-Ed piece for the New York Times that was released today sharing her experience with her surgery and why she wants all women to get checked by their doctors. You can read it here. What do you think of her stance?
