Military working dogs are some of the most elite canines in the world. Not only do they tackle some of the most dangerous tasks during combat missions, but they are highly trained members of the armed forces with the ability to run up to 30 mph.
Military Working Dogs (MWD) are used by every branch of the United States Armed Forces. And they often do the tasks that are too dangerous for humans to do, even sacrificing their own lives in the process.
I caught up with the stars such as Jennifer Coolidge, Naomi Judd, Joey Lawrence, Pauley Perrette and others at the 3rd Annual American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards. And there was no shortage of love for these canine superstars, or for their own fur babies!
Military working dogs or “war dogs” are also considered soldiers and often times, pay the ultimate price while protecting their human counterparts. They have been used in the military since World War I and every war since then, and these “war dogs” even aided in the capture and assassination of Osama Bin Laden.
