RED CARPET ROXY’S “RED ALERT” OF THE WEEK-MILITARY WORKING DOGS

Military Working Dogs (MWD) are used by every branch of the United States Armed Forces. And they often do the tasks that are too dangerous for humans to do, even sacrificing their own lives in the process. But unfortunately, they are merely seen as “equipment” by the US Department of Defense, which makes it very hard to bring them back to this country for adoption once their tenure in foreign countries is over.

But the Canine Members of the Armed Forces Act  strives to change that by re-classifying these MWDs as “canine members of the armed forces” thereby creating programs to help with their adoption when they return to the US, as well as provide them with the necessary vet care that they will need after retiring from the military. And this program wouldn’t use federal funds. But at present, only seven US Senators are cosponsoring this bill.
