5 PRIVATE ISLANDS OWNED BY CELEBS

Have you ever wondered what celebs own private islands, and which ones? Wonder no more because we have a list of the 5 most exclusive private islands owned by the stars!

Johnny Depp

1. Johnny Depp

During the filming of the Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny Depp fell in love with the island of the Bahamas. Then, in 2004, he decided to buy the Little Hall’s Pond Cay island for his family, for $3.6 million. It has 6 white sand beaches, reefs, a big lake and a private harbor. It’s only accessible by boat or helicopter and all the island uses only eco-friendly solar power.

Leo di Caprio

2. Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio enjoyed his stay in Blackadore Caye island so much during his vacation in 2004, that he bought it in 2005 for $1.75M! This 104 acre island is located between mainland Belize and Ambergris Caye, and it has coconut trees, rocky outcrops and white sandy beaches. Leo wants to build a resort and a private airport on the island, all in an eco-friendly manner, of course.

Mel Gibson

3. Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson owns the Mago Island in Fiji. This is an idyllic 5,400 acre vacation spot he bought for $15 million in 2005, after the release of the controversial film The Passion of the Christ. It’s one of the largest privately owned islands in the South Pacific, being the size of a small country. It remains inhabited only by a handful Fijian caretakers.

David Copperfield

4. David Copperfield

The magician David Copperfield owns 11 islands in Southern Bahamas, valued $50 million. The biggest one is Musha Cay, where he has his private resort and spends 10 weeks a year. Must be nice! The surrounding islands serve as buffers to ensure maximum privacy. He calls the waters of the island the “fountain of youth,” where he says some insects and leaves near death have come alive again.

The island has been rented by celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and John Travolta.

Celine Dion

5. Celine Dion

Singer Céline Dion owns the island of Île Gagnon, in Québec, Canada. It’s actually a relatively small island compared to the previous ones, but it’s got a huge French-style mansion on it. It even has local boat tours available for curious tourists.

So which one do you prefer?
