In a follow up to a story I previously reported on, a group of climbers focused on raising awareness for the importance of clean drinking water all over the world, have reached the highest point on Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. They made it to Uhuru Peak (19,340 feet) on Tuesday morning, after having left base camp this past Thursday. They are now making their descent down the mountain. Among those in the climbing group are actors Jessica Biel, Emile Hirsch, and Isabel Lucas, singers Kenna and Lupe Fiasco, explorer Alexandra Cousteau, and Momentum Worldwide CEO Chris Weil. The team had to deal with climbing through a snowstorm, moorlands, snowfields, and even a desert, not to mention altitude sickness, fatigue, and dizziness! Once at the top, the climbers held up a banner that read “Send Water.” The global clean water crisis affects 1 billion people worldwide.
