SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY SUPPORTS BE CRUELTY-FREE CAMPAIGN

The Humane Society of the United States’ Be Cruelty-Free Campaign, a global initiative aimed at ending animal testing in the cosmetics industry, has just received some major celebrity support from none other than Sir Paul McCartney. Said McCartney about his affiliation with the movement, “The ugly truth about testing beauty products on animals is that it causes them unimaginable pain and suffering. If every cosmetic tested on rabbits or mice had a photo on the packaging showing these animals with weeping swollen eyes and inflamed skin, I believe everyone would leave cruelty on the shelf and go for the cruelty-free option instead. So, let’s stand up for those defenceless animals by supporting the Be Cruelty-Free global campaign to end animal testing of cosmetics worldwide. Go online, sign the Be Cruelty-Free pledge today and help HSI and The Humane Society of the United States achieve a world where no animal has to suffer and die for the sake of cosmetics

Sadly, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs and other animals are subjected to tests that including dripping toxic chemicals in their eyes and on their skin, and even injecting them into their bloodstream. Fortunately, Europe has already banned this kind of testing, but countries such as the US, Canada, China, and areas in South America still allow it, and even require it by law. The kicker is that animal testing is completely unnecessary because of the existing safety data on most ingredients, and non-animal testing methods such as computer models and 3D human skin.
