There is a special place for animals in Cambodia. Phnom Tamao Wildlife Sanctuary, an animal sanctuary that takes in animals of all shapes and sizes, including bears, elephants, large cats, and other wild creatures.
Many of these animals have been confiscated from the illegal animal trade in Cambodia, a poor nation with a rich exotic animal population. Still some of them have been orphaned by poachers, and there is even an elephant, thought to have been a victim of a snare, with a foot prosthesis-the first in the world.
