This time of year, homeless animals tend to be overlooked or forgotten. Thousands of healthy, adoptable animals in shelters across the US are put to sleep everyday-mostly because the shelters are overcrowded and cannot hold that many animals at one time. Pet adoption/rescue/foster is by far one of the most rewarding things I have done.

And if you are breed particular, all you have to do is go to www.Petfinder.com to locate a reputable breed specific rescue group in your area. If you find a pet that you love who happens to be out of your area, always ask the shelter or rescue group about possible pet transportation to your area. As a person who has had rescued dogs and cats my whole life, I can say, the rewards are endless and you are truly saving a life. Happy Holidays!
