Last week, I spotlighted NKLA’s (No-Kill Los Angeles, a Best Friends Animal Society Initiative) annual pet adoption event at the La Brea Tar Pits. And this week, I can tell you that the event was a big success!
It was hosted by NBC’s Robert Kovacik and there were over 400 on-site adoptions (dogs, cats, rabbits and one snake!) which occurred over the three day period, with even more adoptions pending. And, all of the city shelter trucks went home empty! So many lives saved, which is great when you consider that over 13,000 adoptable pets were killed last year in LA City Shelters, and that doesn’t include the number euthanized in LA County Shelters. So please adopt, foster, spay/neuter and rescue and save lives!
