Sadly, the Deepwater Horizon oil is still spilling all over the Gulf Coast-as much as 200,000 gallons a day. There are over 400 species of wildlife which are threatened, including dolphins, whales, endangered sea turtles, birds, and other ocean life is being put at risk with no end in site. This disaster in now threatening the Bahamian territory, in addition to all of the death & destruction along the immediate Gulf Coast. So what to do? Pet hair. That’s right-Fido or Spot’s hair that ends up in the corners of your home. Turns out, because hair naturally attracts oil, it is a brilliant, non harmful method to cleaning up the oil spill. The hair is made into hair mats, and Matter of Trust even accepts nylons which also work to absorb the oil.

Click here to go to the Matter of Trust website & see how you can donate excess pet hair & nylons to help clean up the Gulf Oil Spill.

Click here to go to the Sierra Club’s website & see how you can host a “Clean It Up” party in your city.
