In the wake of the massive destruction in Joplin, Missouri following the devastating tornadoes in May, the ASPCA, along with the Joplin Humane Society, is hosting a huge pet adoption event this weekend-June 25th & 26th. The hours of the event are 10 AM-8 PM and the location is the Joplin Humane Society, 140 East Emperor Lane, Joplin, Mo., 64801.

Over 600 animals are looking for loving homes after being displaced by the natural disaster. All of the cats and dogs have undergone a SAFER behavior evaluation by the ASPCA team, and show wonderful qualities, according to the ASPCA. These animals have been through a lot, and they certainly deserve a new start,” says ASPCA animal behaviorist Kristen Collins. “The dogs’ evaluations revealed their different personalities—and it’s clear to me that there will be a perfect companion for just about anyone!”
