Clearly, I wasn’t the only one blown away by the amazing women at the Courage in Journalism Awards last week. Former MTV VJ, LaLa Vasquez, couldn’t have been more in awe of the sacrifices these women make in order to deliver truth in their reporting. In fact, she remarked that she “wouldn’t have the courage to do a percentage of what they do.”
She went on to say that women shouldn’t fall prey to cattiness because “there is room for everybody.” Agreed.
And as for her personal style, “it changes depending on my mood.” And probably also on the disposition of her 3 1/2 year old son, Kiyan-with husband and Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony -who keeps her “moving around quickly.”
