As many as 100 million sharks are slaughtered in a very gruesome and cruel way every year and that is through the practice of shark finning. The sharks are pulled out of the ocean and are robbed of their fins and tossed back into the water, where they die a very slow, painful death often sinking to the bottom where they drown or are eaten by other fish. And the demand for shark fin soup is on the rise causing more of theses animals to suffer this terrible fate.
Click here to urge U.S Senators to sign the Shark Conservation Act of 2009 to protect these creatures and to put an end to shark finning in U.S. waters.
