Today, August 26th, is National Dog Day! It was started in 2004 as a way to shed a light on the plight of millions of animals in shelters looking for homes. As the mother of three rescued pups, and although my babies can be naughty at times, they have brought me so much happiness than I could have ever asked for. Pet adoption is a great way to save an animal’s life. If you are interested in fostering/rescuing/adopting a pet, here are some excellent resources to help you with your search: Petfinder.com, Adoptapet.com or the ASPCA website. If you find a pet that you love who happens to be out of your area, always ask the shelter or rescue group about possible pet transportation to your area. Adopt, don’t shop.
