RED CARPET ROXY’S “RED ALERT” OF THE WEEK-PET ADOPTION

Congratulations to the Joplin Humane Society and the ASPCA for a successful pet adoption event this past weekend. Because of the care and generosity of adopters and volunteers, all of the over 700 cats and dogs displaced by the devastating tornado were placed in loving homes! Great news!

RED CARPET ROXY’S “RED ALERT” OF THE WEEK-PATRICK’S LAW

On March 16th, maintenance workers found an extremely emaciated (he was 20 lbs. when he should have weighed 60!) and severely neglected pit bull pup in the bottom of the garbage chute of their Newark, NJ. building. His former owner, Kisha Curtis, had stuffed this dog’s weak, but still very much alive, body in a plastic bag and dumped it down the 22nd story garbage chute of her apartment building. Once the bag moved, the workers sprung into action, taking the pup to the Humane Society, who then transferred him to a New Jersey animal hospital, where he survived through the night which was St. Patrick’s Day, therefore, naming him Patrick.

RED CARPET ROXY’S “RED ALERT” OF THE WEEK-END DOGFIGHTING

I came across this really interesting charity while at the 25th Annual Genesis Awards a few weeks back. It is called One Car One Difference and the way it works is that a person can donate their old, used, or new car to this program (it can either be driven or towed there) and it will be auctioned off at one of their 145+ auction locations. The proceeds from the sale of the car will go directly to The Humane Society of the United States’ End Dogfighting program.
