Animal-loving couple George and Amal Clooney showed one local SoCal dog rescue the money in a big way. The parents-to-be just donated $10,000 to the Camp Cocker Rescue, a Sherman Oaks, CA., a cocker spaniel rescue organization. And the rescue group was , of course, thrilled. “You can imagine how blown away we were when we heard that a $10,000 donation was pledged to our doggies,” they wrote on their Facebook page.
And this good fortune couldn’t have come at a better time. Camp Cocker Rescue just took in nine canines with severe medical issues which equates to high vet bills.
“After we all did happy dances and cried with happiness for this unbelievable matching donation offer — we then asked the donors … if we could reveal their names to our supporters in order to help us reach our big goal this month. We want to thank George and Amal Clooney for their unbelievable donation and now it’s time to turn to all of YOU to see if you can match it!!!!”
The Clooney’s are already dog parents to three rescues: basset mix Millie and two spaniels adopted from Camp Cocker named Louie and Einstein. And with the addition of their upcoming twins, no doubt they will have a full house.
What do you think of the Clooney’s generous donation to help animals in need? We want to know. Comment below! And please always foster/rescue/adopt, don’t shop to save lives.
