A good night’s sleep. Such an easily envisioned concept, but very hard to achieve at times. What does it look like to you? A night with no crying babies, a solid and uninterrrupted 8 hours, sleeping on little fluffy clouds? Perhaps all of these things? As a new mom and somebody seriously sleep-deprived, a good night’s sleep is something that really doesn’t happen much anymore.
So you can imagine how excited I was to try out the Simmons Beautyrest Black mattress. And as part of the experiment, I had to grab at least six hours of shut-eye per night on it. Thank goodness I have a really wonderful hubby who doesn’t mind helping out-A LOT-with our baby girl! And so, I put this mattress to the test.
When I first settled into my new sleeping chamber, I noticed that the mattress was firm underneath, but because of the top layer of memory foam, it was super comfy and cozy. Like a big, warm hug. Seriously. So as you can imagine, I had no problem falling and staying asleep. Also, the mattress has temperature regulation technology, which is good for someone like me who is a radiator in bed. I run hot. And I have overheated on other mattresses. Not with this one. But for me the true test of a great mattress is how it supports my back. After all, I hate waking up to back aches and feeling like my muscles were contorted in all sorts of ways throughout the night. I am happy to report no back pain! Simmons developed specially designed, individually-wrapped coils which support the back and relieve pressure. One more notable fact, the mattress is 16 inches high. For me, I love a tall bed. Are you also into that?
The verdict: I am very happy with the quality of sleep I got on this mattress. Now, only if I could get more of it!
