COOKING WITH THE CROSSINGS AT HIPCOOKS LA

I love to cook. And I love to drink wine. And these two activities, done together, usually spell a good time. So I was thrilled to attend a special event, hosted by Romy of Romy Raves, called Cooking with the Crossings at Hipcooks in East LA recently.

And the timing was perfect as it was right before National Sauvignon Blanc day because we were drinking-you guessed it-Sav Blanc! And the SB by The Crossings was delish. It was fruity with notes of citrus, passionfruit and pear, and a crisp mineral finish. It paired perfectly with our three course meal which featured new potato, green bean, basil and pine nut salad; scallop spedini and lemon rice, and a raspberry walnut roll. And I am already salivating again!

And what was fun about Hipcooks is that it is totally hands-on, but not overly concerned with exact measurements. It was all about what our taste for the food was. So if we wanted the rice to be more lemony, add more lemons. Not enough basil in the salad? Add more! How’s that for customizable cooking?

The best part? Getting to enjoy our delicious + nutritious meal with a crisp glass of The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc around a table of hardworking, empowered girl bosses, chatting the evening away. Not bad for a Wednesday night! What is your favorite meal to cook? Comment below!
