As you probably are already aware of, the Oscars planning committee has decided to go the comedy route by calling on comedy geniuses Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin to host The 82nd Academy Awards. Just today, it was announced that some other funnymen and a funny woman have been added to the bill for the evening. They include: Sacha Baron Cohen, Jason Bateman, Steve Carell, Tina Fey and Ben Stiller. Both Jason Bateman and Sacha Baron Cohen are Oscars virgins and will be making their first appearances on the telecast. The others (Carrell, Stiller, and Fey) have all graced The Academy Awards stage before in an effort to garner laughs and ratings. Let’s hope this comedy team will turn it out this year with some good material!
The 82nd Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PT/ 8 p.m. ET. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.
