The tears started flowing as soon as Robin Roberts began her acceptance speech for the Arthur Ashe Award at tonight’s Espys. Growing up in small-town Mississippi, she quickly rose through the ranks as a broadcaster at ESPN and ABC’s GMA, while dealing with prejudice from a “good old boys” club.
And after battling both breast cancer and a life-threatening blood disorder, as well as suffering the death of her beloved mother, Robin is still a fighter and fuller than life than ever before. And through all of the good times and bad, she never lost her faith What an inspiration!
