The continuation of the U2 360 Tour with rescheduled dates were announced today. As you know, the tour was postponed due to Bono’s emergency back surgery in May after an injury he sustained during a concert rehearsal. The high energy show kicks off in Denver on May 21st, then hits Angel Stadium in Anaheim June 17th & 18th in 2011, with performances at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on July 20, and finishing the North American leg on July 23 in Minneapolis. So get your tickets now! U2’s Manager Paul McGuinness released a statement, saying:
“We’re delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play. It hasn’t been easy to accomplish this and I’d like to thank the managers of the many venues and sports teams across North America and Live Nation Global Touring for their help and cooperation in making this complex new plan possible. Above all we want to thank the U2 fans for bearing with us. They’re the best and the band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience.”
The Irish lads also put up a special video message on their site talking about the new music they are recording now in the studio to be played live for the first time next summer. Bono also goes on to say that he is doing quite well and will be ready by next summer thanks to being “rebuilt by German engineering” and that there is “nowhere else they want to be!”
