The final day of STYLE360 produced by HFM and event marketing powerhouse A-List Communications, was jam packed with fashion talent including Kipling with Walter, Susan G. Komen Pink Dress Show featuring several talented designers including Abi Ferrin, Tide with Geren Ford, and the Gen Art Fresh Faces show.
At Walter, Kristin Cavallari stopped by to support one of her favorite designers donned in one of his sexy, feminine pieces. As I interviewed Walter for The Skinny on Fashion presented by Oral-B Pulsonic, he assured me that the inspiration for his all of his collections, including Spring 2010, is and always will be “beautiful women” and it showed in his clothes which were extremely feminine and flirty.
The Susan G. Komen Pink Dress show had several celebrity participants, including host Brooke Burke who walked the catwalk with a special limited edition Clairsonic that will be donating 50% of sale profits to Susan G. Komen Foundation benefiting breast cancer research and gave me the skinny and about her love for the latest trend of ripped jeans, supermodel Carol Alt who told me that it is still a thrill to walk in a runway show and that a smile was key to complementing any outfit on the catwalk or off, Roxy Olin from Brothers & Sisters, Carmen Dell’Orifice who has modeled half a century, and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton decked in one of his faves-Moods of Norway– who said to me that his favorite colors were shades of pink-blush & bashful and how he was excited for the launch party of his new site Cocoperez.com. Mommy bloggers ruled the roost at Tide with Geren Ford, as they left their lives as domestic divas and were transformed into sexy supermodels for the day. Not only were these women excited to wear designer Geren Ford’s sleek designs on the runway, but also they couldn’t stop praising the virtues of how Tide has kept them stylish by keeping their clothes clean and fresh. Particularly when one has a house filled with 5 boys (husband included) and limited time to style oneself, as one mommy blogger revealed to me. Gorgeous Tiffani Thiessen in a stylish Geren Ford design shared with me that she was excited to wear over the knee boots this season and that she was a huge fan of the Geren Ford collection. As for Geren, she happily admitted that she was leaving for Portugal on a well deserved vacay.
Fresh faces were the stars of the Gen Art Fashion Show that was hosted by Gossip Girl’s newest addition, Joanna Garcia who had a beautiful smile. Fresh from the talk show circuit promoting her new show, she disclosed to me that she will make her debut on GG during the Halloween episode where she “heads straight for the bedroom.” Hmmm…wonder if anyone will be joining her there? Several emerging designers showcased their fashions including Vincente Villarin, Min Young Lee, and Cloak & Dagger.
After a whole day of great fashion shows, it was time to party at the What Goes Around Comes Around in Soho. The Beautiful Life star Mischa Barton hosted the soiree, along with NY sociallite Becka Diamond and stylist Robert Verdi. Mischa gave me the skinny about her love for vintage rocker tee’s that she picks up at WGACA, how she looks to fashion icons of the past for design inspiration, and how she enjoyed Herve Leger’s runway show during NY Fashion Week. She is also elated about her show The Beautiful Life produced by Ashton Kutcher which has just finished filming its sixth episode and has kept her extremely busy. Looking forward to seeing the show. Style conscious guests perused racks of one of a kind vintage pieces from leather goods to jewelery, and sipped Rose’s Mojito cocktails.
