This past week, I ventured to the Sony Store in Century City for the unveiling of The Creative Coalition’s latest project, a photography book called Art & Soul. Celebrities including Anne Hathaway, Kerry Washington, Patricia Arquette, Adrien Brody, Alyssa Milano, Adrian Grenier, Samuel L. Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Amanda Peet are all depicted in this collection of photos and essays that reveal why art is important to them.
It was shot by Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Brian Smith, and the portraits are absolutely beautiful. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit The Creative Coalition, an arts advocacy group. And I chatted with some of the talent from the book, including Nia Vardalos, Ian Gomez, Tichina Arnold, Andrea Bowen, and actor and President of TCC Tim Daly, as well as the CEO of TCC and Art & Soul Editor Robin Bronk, who were in attendance at the soiree, about why they participated in this project and what the arts means to them in their lives.
