One of my favorite nights in Hollywood, the Golden Globes never cease to bring out huge stars, fabulous fashion, and of course, amazing parties. So much fun! Here is my party round up.
At the AMC viewing party, guests including actors Richard Sommer and Steven Yeun, waited with baited breath to see if their shows (Mad Men and The Walking Dead, respectively) took home the awards for the categories in which they were nominated. As the night wore on, guests enjoyed a raw bar and sushi, while sipping on flowing champagne. Before the awards show even ended, a red-colored Versace clad January Jones and Christina Hendricks in a similar crimson-colored one-shouldered gown by Romona Kevenza, along with Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, arrived in the packed room and took pictures with admirers. Soon after Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner arrived and took posed for photos with Frank Darabont-the writer, director, and producer of The Walking Dead.
Over at the NBC Universal/Focus Features bash, A- List talent like Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient Robert DeNiro, Alec Baldwin, Julianne Moore, Warren Beatty, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy winner Annette Bening enjoyed tunes spun by MC Lyte. Twilight hottie and newly red-head Rob Pattinson made his way around the crowd on the outdoor patio, while Adrien Brody took his time socializing. One of the stars of AMC’s The Walking Dead–Norman Reedus, who arrived with buddy Clifton Collins Jr., shared with me his love for the Dominican Republic and gave me pointers on traveling to Cuba. Thanks, Norman!
Jumping from party to party, Natalie Portman, clutching both her Golden Globe statuette and fiance Benjamin Millipied, changed into a short cocktail dress before hitting the Fox Searchlight soiree. And talk about a standing ovation-as soon as heartthrob Ryan Gosling entered the lobby, fans started screaming and cheering before his handlers was swiftly moved him through the room. Milla Jovovich kindly stopped to sign autographs and take pictures for onlookers in the lobby. Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough were the couple of the night making their first red carpet appearance together at The Weinstein Company/Relativity Media shindig and remained attached at the hand. Glee creator Ryan Murphy, who also had his Globe in hand, crossed in front of ex-“intern” Ross Matthews, who was filming a segment for E! in the lobby, before heading into the InStyle/Warner Bros. after party, along with Christina Aguilera who kept smooching new BF Matt Rutler.
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie, decked in emerald green Versace, turned up the star power at the Sony Pictures Classics fete. She spent part of the night chatting with Best Director-Motion Picture awardee for Social Network David Fincher, who had also directed her beau Brad in Fight Club, Se7en, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. And at HBO, Scott Caan mingled by the pool, and attendees like 50 Cent, Mark Walberg, Chris Noth, and Olivia Wilde enjoyed chatting with guests, and Steve Buscemi posed for photos with his Golden Globe.
Eva Longoria (her Zac Posen dress was amazing!) and I met in the elevator as she was munching on a mini can of Pringles, with her gorgeous Sergio Rossi heels in one hand. I suggested she put those shoes back on for pics & she said “you are right!” and donned them immediately before the onslaught of camera flashes. And speaking about bulbs going off-once Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones exited the auditorium where the awards were held, well wishers greeted the couple and took many pictures with them. And coming full circle, Longoria, Douglas, and Zeta-Jones all caught up with one another at The Weinstein Company/Relativity Media event.
