Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle is still selling records and LOTS of them! Her debut album, “I Dream a Dream” opened at #1 with sales of 701,000 in the first week of its release, indicating the best opening week for a female singer since SoundScan first tracked records (1991). There was only one other debut album-Doggystyle (1993) by Snoop Dogg-that beat her numbers, selling 803,000 copies in its first week of release. Mind you, she is beating out Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, and Rihanna in album sales and who all released albums the same week as Boyle. Man does Simon Cowell know how to pick a winner and market them!
