The 2nd Annual Autumn Party benefiting the Children’s Institute, Inc., was held last night at The London West Hollywood. And this year’s featured designer was Yigal Azrouel, one of my faves.

His aesthetic is simply beautiful-minimalist chic with a modern feel and sex appeal. He really loves dressing a woman’s body, as was apparent with his Spring/Summer 2012 collection, which was shown at the soiree. Models walked the runway in several monochromatic black and white looks. But there were also pops of color, as well as long and short hemlines, high slits, and open backs.
Nicole Richie in an all white look, a cream sequined wearing Lauren Conrad, and Rumer Willis-sporting a multicolored Yigal dress-all sat first row at the show. Earlier in the evening, I chatted with Willis, Jennifer Tilly, Dexter’s Aimee Garcia, Lydia Hearst, event organizer and ARCADE boutique owner Rochelle Gores Fredston, and Amy Smart about their winter wardrobe essentials. Azrouel also shared with me what he thinks every woman should have in her winter closet.
After the fashion presentation, we headed into the swanky cocktail party, also on the rooftop. We sampled sushi nibbles from Nobu and sweet treats by Sprinkles Cupcakes. What was really fun was playing with gorgeous diamonds, courtesy of Solange Azagury-Partridge. The jewels were amazing and so unique! Solange is known for her love of rainbows that infuse many of the pieces in her collection, the pages of her catalog, and even the decor inside of her boutiques. I know what is going on my Christmas list!
