Oscars week was full of nonstop parties day and night, lots of champagne, and very little sleep. Nervous nominees hung out with giddy fans and studio powerhouses, all while counting down the hours to Hollywood’s biggest night. So without further ado, here are some of the highlights from this special time in Tinsel town.
Cadillac held its annual Oscars party at the Chateau Marmont, which drew celebrities such as Oscar winner Allison Janney, Zoe Saldana, and John Stamos who enjoyed the sounds of DJ Michelle Pesce while sipping Veuve Cliquot. At the soiree, Ray Donovan star Liev Schreiber shared that he will be watching the Oscars at home with his kids. Oscar winning actresses Hilary Swank and Janney were gushing over photos on Hilary’s phone, while Swank reminded Academy Awards attendees to breathe and to eat before they go. And Janney talked about how Roma was “visually the most beautiful thing” she’d seen in a long time and raved about her “best friend” Melissa McCarthy’s performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me? Love a supportive BFF!
Continuing on that supportive theme, Annie Starke has nothing but love for her mom, best actress nominee Glenn Close at the Sony Pictures Classics nominees dinner, produced by A-List Communications. “My fingers, eyes, and toes are crossed for her,” Starke beamed as she lovingly spoke about here mama. And Sony Pictures Classics President Michael Barker praised Close and shared that they have had a great relationship since the early days of Sony Pictures Classics. Guests sipped Dobel tequila cocktails, Sensi wine, and Peroni beer while enjoying a delish dinner that included New York steak, wild Atlantic cod, braised artichoke risotto, tuna tartare, and flourless chocolate cake prepared by Chef Robert Liberato at STK. The berry sorbet was literally one of the best desserts I have ever tasted!
Meanwhile, over at the Mercedes-Benz viewing party, guests such as Jon Hamm, Tracy Ellis Ross, Kelly Rowland, and Charlie XCX all mingled and watched the Oscars on screens at the Four Seasons Los Angeles. Guests also enjoyed pampering by PRIV and flowing bubbly. And Jamie Foxx showed up with a gorgeous brunette on his arm, but not Katie Holmes. Who, you ask? Well that would be Jessica Szohr! He also declared himself “single” the day before at another Academy Awards bash. The plot thickens…
