This weekend, No-Kill Los Angeles will be hosting a pet adoption event at the La Brea Tar Pits on Friday 11AM-5PM), Saturday (11AM-7PM) and Sunday (11AM-5PM). Over 1,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from 50 shelters and rescues will be looking for their forever homes and will be available for adoption. LA hottest food trucks will be on hand, as well as other vendors and fun activities. Found Animals Foundation is offering free microchips when you adopt. And, if you adopt during your lunch break on Friday, NKLA will watch you new pet while you finish up your workday!
The dream of NKLA, led by Best Friends Animal Society, is to end the killing of healthy and treatable pets in LA city shelters. Almost 20,000 healthy, adoptable pets were killed in LA city shelters in 2011. This problem can be solved through spaying/neutering and pet adoption/rescue/foster.
