As most people know, Perez Hilton has expanded his brand exponentially in the last year by starting CoCoPerez.com-profiling celebrities & fashion-from which he satirically surmises that Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour procures her fashion ideas, by following his true passion and creating his Perezcious Music label-backed by none other than Warner Bros. Records-signing emerging talent that he deems label worthy, and assembling the Perez Hilton Presents Tour to showcase many of the bands he has discovered. This inaugural tour included co-headliners Ladyhawke & Ida Maria, Sliimy (the first artist to sign with Hilton), Semi Precious Weapons, Julian Perretta, Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head, FrankMusik, and Eric Hutchinson. Love him or hate him, look for Perez to not only be a self-proclaimed “gossip gangster,” but a musical taste maker as well proclaiming to me that he “has the future of music in his lap top.”
Last night’s Tour Finale Bash, sponsored by Three Olives Vodka and their Bubble Vodka, Neuro energy drink, and held at L.A. hot spot Bardot, didn’t come without surprises-the biggest one being the hush-hush act performing at the end of the night. Perez let me in on the secret early on in the evening, but once he announced that Beth Ditto and The Gossip would be taking the stage, the hipster audience went crazy for her punk/pop/disco music. Beth had a blast backstage trying on and signing different pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses. Also, at the end of Ladyhawke’s set, gender bending dresser Justin Tranter (so jealous of his custom made silver sparkly stiletto Stuart Weitzman boots!) and the rest of Semi Precious Weapons with Perez Hilton accompanying them, jumped onto the stage singing, dancing, and at one point hoisting Ladyhawke off the ground while she was still jamming on her guitar. Bardot was full of music loving party goers hoping to catch a glimpse of not only the bands performing, but Hilton as well. Million Dollar Listing’s Chad Rogers had nothing but love for P. Hizzle saying that “talk is cheap and Perez says it how it is.”
Here is the recap video that I hosted for Perez:
