Dancing with the Stars’ Carrie Ann Inaba will take time out from prepping for the 14th season of the hit ABC show to host The Humane Society of the United States’ 26th Genesis Awards on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills.
The Humane Society of the United States targets dogfighting through an interesting program called One Car One Difference. Basically, you donate your old ride, no matter what condition it is in-it could be an old beater, ravaged by floods, new car, motorcycle, or even a snowmobile! Each vehicle is auctioned and the proceeds are donated to the HSUS’ End Dogfighting Program, which aims to end violence against dogs and educate people about the evils of this cruel bloodsport.
I came across this really interesting charity while at the 25th Annual Genesis Awards a few weeks back. It is called One Car One Difference and the way it works is that a person can donate their old, used, or new car to this program (it can either be driven or towed there) and it will be auctioned off at one of their 145+ auction locations. The proceeds from the sale of the car will go directly to The Humane Society of the United States’ End Dogfighting program.
Recently, I caught up with Stephanie Pratt, who was decked in a pink Marc Bouwer gown, at The Humane Society of the United States’ 25th Annual Genesis Awards in Century City.
