My favorite holiday, the Fourth of July, is just a few days away! And, no doubt, there will be much merrymaking with all of the backyard barbeques, pool parties, family gatherings and fireworks displays. But this is also a very dangerous time for pets. Here are some practical tips to keep your furry friends safe during all of the revelry.
Last week, I spotlighted NKLA’s (No-Kill Los Angeles, a Best Friends Animal Society Initiative) annual pet adoption event at the La Brea Tar Pits. And this week, I can tell you that the event was a big success!
This weekend, No-Kill Los Angeles will be hosting a pet adoption event at the La Brea Tar Pits on Friday 11AM-5PM), Saturday (11AM-7PM) and Sunday (11AM-5PM). Over 1,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from 50 shelters and rescues will be looking for their forever homes and will be available for adoption.
On Saturday, September 24th, Best Friends Animal Society will be holding its Strut Your Mutt event in Los Angeles at Pan Pacific Park. This year’s event will benefit Coastal German Shepherd Dog Rescue, a Southern California based animal charity, dedicated to lifesaving adoptions and spay/neuter programs, rescuing at-risk Shepherds and find new homes for them, and saving animals from the misery of life on the streets. And you don’t have to be in LA to participate in this fundraising event. You can walk virtually as well.
