Most of the time it is really nice to be a Beauty/Fashion/Celebrity blogger, and then other times it is great! Like Saturday night when Dove Hair Care invited me to join them for a pre-reception, after-party, and screening of Terri-starring John C. Reilly-at the LA Film Fest.

I took my hubby and we arrived at LA Live for the VIP cocktail hour in which I sampled the new Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner. And just this morning, I used both the Dove Nourishing Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. They are revitalizing, smell amazing, and tame my sometimes-wild locks. My hair feels super soft. Really good stuff. While at the beauty bash, we also mugged for pictures in the Dove “Real Beauty” photo booth. My hubby was too tall for the camera-his head got cut off! Ha!

We made our way into the theater for the screening of Terri. This coming-of-age drama is a little depressing, but relays a positive message about having good self-esteem and feeling comfortable in your own skin. The actors in the film were fabulous including John C. Reilly who plays a good guy principal trying to look out the best he can for his troubled students (“monsters”), while clearly getting in over his head. The movie grows much more interesting as it goes on and in particular, there is a Breakfast Club type scene in which the monsters get together for a late night rendez-vous. I was unsure of what would happen, but the scene was tense and firmly held my attention.
And then it was off to the after-party for more yummy cocktails and chit chat with our fantastic group of beauty bloggers! Such a fun night. Thanks, Dove!
