It seems appropriate that today is #YTthrowbackdad Thursday as I have some exciting dad news. Specifically, about my dad, Amanullah Khan. He has released his first book of English poems called Sifting Shades. As someone who has watched his methodical and deeply invested creative process, I can say that Sifting Shades is unlike any other poetry book you have ever read. Drawn from his life experiences growing up first in India and then in Pakistan before moving to the US in his early twenties, these moving poems spotlight personal relationships paralleled with the beauty of nature and the environment.

My Dad is actually an oncologist and hematologist by trade, but has always loved writing and developed an amazing talent for penning poetry. And he is always challenging himself and on a quest for knowledge, having earned not only his MD, PhD and MBA and producing movies, but also taking creative writing classes via Oxford.
