On Tuesday night, City Shapers and party goers gathered at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood to preview the 2012 Range Rover Evoque. And what a beautiful car it is! Although it won’t be released until September 2011, a lucky few will get to drive this luxury SUV before it is available to the public and spread the word as a part of the Pulse of the City campaign. Among those chosen include Plain Jane host Louise Roe, singer Solange, Final Destination 5 star Miles Fisher, and rock band OK Go. In fact, the group carried out a city wide “tour” in Los Angeles on Wednesday, in which they traveled around LA playing their music and promoting the Pulse of the City campaign for Range Rover. Other notable guests at Tuesday night’s soiree included actress Amy Smart, Glee star Ben Hollingsworth, and UK TV presenter, George Lamb, who each enjoyed a preview of this impressive vehicle.

I got to chat with these City Shapers and found out a few interesting tidbits about each one of them. First off, Solange (sister to Beyonce), who was wearing a yellow vintage romper with purple velvet platform heels from Opening Ceremony, is an on-line shopping addict! She revealed to me that she gets beyond excited when she hears the UPS man stopping by to deliver a package. She also mentioned that her greatest achievement was being a Mother to her son, Daniel Julez Smith, Jr., and she is even the chairman of the entertainment committee at his school for their upcoming gala. Good thing she has a couple of family members that she can call on!

A handsome Miles let it be known that his celebrity crush was none other than Queen Rania of Jordan because of her beauty, both inside and out. Too bad she is taken! Native Londoner Louise agreed with me that the Top Shop in her home town is the best one in world because of its sheer size and extensive selection. Seriously, you need GPS to navigate around that store! After all, she was sporting a wide belt that she picked up there, which complemented her hunter green Miu Miu skirt, black BCBG short sleeved jacket, and Christian Louboutin stilettos. Tim Nordwind and Damian Kulash from OK Go were getting excited for their musical jaunt around LA, but Damian couldn’t help but miss his 2 canine companions, even though he would only be away from them for a few hours. That is true puppy love! I even spoke with environmentalist Amy Smart, decked in a floral print Rachel Roy dress and black Brian Atwood cage heels, who couldn’t have been happier about the fusion of luxury and sustainability with the Range Rover Evoque. She mentioned that it has a much smaller carbon footprint than most SUV’s on the road. Look for her next in Dead Awake alongside Rose McGowan and Nick Stahl.
