Between fresh blooming flowers, longer, sunnier days, and the arrival of warm weather fashion, Spring is the perfect time for renewal. If you’re still clinging to those forgiving winter sweaters, here’s what some celebs are doing to blossom into a healthier Spring, and how you can join the wellness movement!
Start the Day with Green Tea
Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell shared her beauty and fitness routine with Teen Vogue, which includes beginning the day with a cup (or more) of high antioxidant green tea. Green tea is a healthier way to get your caffeine fix rather than sweetened and doctored coffee drinks. According to Web MD, its antioxidants help fight and prevent cell damage. Shay’s gorgeous glowing skin is enough of a reason to include it into your morning routine.
Get Outside and Get Active
It feels natural after a long winter to get outside more and enjoy some gorgeous Spring sunshine, even in year-round warm weather climates. Instead of staying inside at the gym, take your workout outside. Swap treadmills for trails. Follow Taylor Swift or Julianne Hough’s lead and take a hike—get a good workout in while taking in some nature and fresh air. Aim to be active a little bit each day, even if it’s just walking the dog like Olivia Palermo.
Drink Your Greens
Even with an abundance of fresh Spring produce in grocery stores and farmers’ markets, it can be hard to get all the vitamins you need to stay well. Do like models Gisele Bundchen and Alessandra Ambrosio and incorporate green juice or smoothies into your diet. Try this green smoothie recipe from celebrity nutritionist Kimberly Snyder from PopSugar. There’s a reason green juice is more than just a trend in Hollywood.
Embrace Who You Are
This one goes along with the idea that a healthy mind=healthy body. Model and Lip Sync Battle host Chrissy Teigen recently posted an Instagram pic in which she kept it real and gave a little shout out to her very normal and real stretch marks. She has been a champion for positive body image for a while and proved once again that beauty does not come from looking perfectly and unattainably photoshopped, but from being healthy and happy. Now that’s something to take into Spring.
