Jessica Alba may be a talented actress, but it turns out she’s a powerful businesswoman too. Just two years after its launch, The Honest Company has raised $70 million in addition to a previously raised $52 million. As the company heads towards an IPO, the start-up’s net worth is nearly $1 billion.
“We believe being a public company is the best path for us going forward and it’s good to get that validation early on,” said Brian Lee, Co-founder and Chief Executive of The Honest Company.
Jeremy Liew, a partner with investor Lightspeed Venture Partners, added, “[Jessica Alba] is an international star. We’re starting to see a lot of demand from her fans around the world idea for non-toxic, chemical free products has resonated around the world in developed and developing countries.”
