The gorgeous and uber talented Halle Berry walked the red carpet at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood on Tuesday night for the premiere of her new movie, Frankie and Alice. In the psychological thriller, Halle plays a troubled stripper named Frankie who is affected with Dissociative Identitiy Disorder, otherwise known as Multiple Personality Disorder, as a way of dealing with traumatic events that have occurred in Frankie’s young life. And Berry is no stranger to fine acting-as you might recall-she was an Oscar for her gripping performance in Monster’s Ball in 2002. This time, she presents a character who is complex, misunderstood, vulnerable, and endearing as she struggles with finding out who she really is.
Back to the red carpet-Halle (whose sexy boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, patiently waited in the wings as his real life leading lady held the attention of most of the guests who enjoyed Russian Standard Vodka and Stella Artois) was decked in a black and gold pantsuit by Balmain. And how does this ageless women retain her radiant beauty? Her answer, “It’s simple-it isn’t much!” See, some people are just born with it!
Fashion wasn’t far from the minds of the lovely ladies at this premiere. A bubbly Taraji P. Henson who was wearing an animal print Dolce and Gabbana cocktail dress with nude strappy Jimmy Choo heels mentioned to me her love for uncomfortable but stylish shoes-“Sometimes you have to forget about pain for the sake of fashion.” Isn’t that the truth!
Meanwhile, H&M fan Elise Neal acknowledged, “I am pissed I missed all of the Lanvin stuff (at H&M)! I am waiting for somebody to return (their Lanvin for H&M clothes) back to the shop!” Perhaps Alber Elbaz will grace us with another Lanvin for H&M Collection? One can only hope…..
Frankie an Alice will release on February 4, 2011.
