Julianne Hough looked gorgeous at tonight’s Met Gala in NYC. Her skin was flawless and her lashes were all about drama. And celebrity makeup artist Molly Stern let me in on how she achieved this look on Julianne using COVERGIRL products and how you can get her A Clockwork Orange inspired look at home.
I was so happy to get Julianne ready for one of my favorite red carpet events of the year. The MET ball is the night to be creative and have fun. One of Julianne’s best features is her skin. I wanted to use her poreless complexion and cocoa pre-summer tan as my diving board and keep everything super monochromatic in the tone of her skin. To prep her I massaged Natura Bisse vitamin C cream into her skin and sparingly applied COVERGIRL Clean Whipped Crème.
For her cheeks I hollowed her cheeks using NARS Sophia Eyeshadow and then popped some glow on the apples using COVERGIRL Clean Glow Blush in Roses.
Inspired by A Clockwork Orange I wanted to emphasize her lashes and give her a provocative dolly face. I first based her entire eye just up to the brow bone with Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Tawny and then highlighted her brow bone with COVERGIRL Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Melted Caramel Flame #305. Then very softly winged her eye shape using NARS Blondie Eyeshadow.
For the lashes I loaded the top lash line with 3 coats of COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara in Very Black Blaze. For the bottom lashes I added 4 individuals and clumped her lashes together with the falsies. Then I coated those with the very black COVERGIRL mascara.
For her lip, I first based her lip with foundation and then added a hint of sheen using COVERGIRL LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Toffee Twist #200
