Glowing and smooth skin is always in, no matter what red carpet event it is. And there was plenty of gorgeous skin on display at the People’s Choice Awards. Standing just a few feet away from the nominees and presenters as they sashayed down the red carpet, I couldn’t help but notice how so many of the starlets had perfectly glowing and dewy skin. Perfect for posing for all of those flashing lights!
And I also am obsessed with dewy, hydrated skin. Like REALLY obsessed. In my opinion, I think it is the most important accessory that you have, and it also provides the necessary canvas for the paint, i.e. makeup. And so for me, what I find most helpful to achieve that glowy look is exfoliation. I’ll say it again, exfoliation. Not only does this process remove all of the dead skin, but it also reveals what’s underneath-new, fresh, unexposed skin. And I especially target the driest areas on my bod-my elbow, knees and the bottoms of my feet. For my night at the People’s Choice Awards, I scrubbed with Olay Ultra Moisture Bodywash in the shower, and then I slathered on the lotion. Because after exfoliation, it is a must to moisturize to rehydrated the skin, especially after a hot shower which can strip the skin of moisture.
And make no mistake, I also exfoliate the skin on my face, but much more gently and never on my eyes. After my facial exfoliation before the PCAs, I reached for my Olay Regenerist Facial Oil. It’s not too heavy, it goes on easy, and imparts a subtle glow on my skin. Perfect when standing next to a People’s Choice Awards winner! And since I have never done Botox, fillers or injectables (nothing wrong with them, I just have a MASSIVE fear of needles) I need products that work.
