This was by far my favorite Grammys in recent history. And women took home the top awards last night!! Taylor Swift won album of the year (Midnights), record of the year went to Miley Cyrus for “Flowers,” and Victoria Monet clenched best new artist, just to name a few. And my favorite performance was “Fast Car” with a surprise appearance by Tracy Chapman! Luke Combs, who recently released his version of the song, accompanied her. She last performed her hit song in 1989 for TV when it came out.
Also, there were killer performance by Cyrus, Dua Lipa, and icon Joni Mitchell, who had never performed at the Grammys before. And the audience was thrilled to see a radiant Celine Dion take the stage to present album of the year, especially after she revealed that she has been fighting Stiff Person Syndrome for the last few years. All in all, a night of unexpected moments, and big wins for women!
And now let’s talk style. The looks coming down the red carpet were definitely elevated this year. I was very pleasantly surprised. Of course, we saw a lot of shimmer and shine. But there seemed to be more well thought out and purposeful dressing. Lots of great looks. Here is what caught my eye:
Miley Cyrus in custom Margiela
Olivia Rodrigo in archival Versace from 1995
Dua Lipa in custom Courreges
Chrissy Teigen in Sophia Couture
What can I say? Miley killed it again in Gucci and Tiffany & Co. jewels
Coi Leray in Saint Laurent
Lainey Wilson in Balmain and Pomellato
Ella Balinski in Dolce and Gabbana
Paris Hilton in Reem Acra
