Friday night proved to be a night a night of full on fashion at Funkshion Fashion Week, sponsored by Fame Route and Rose’s Cocktail Mixers, in Miami. Dallas darling Abi Ferrin kicked off the evening with her rain forest inspired Genesis Collection at the Bass Museum sponsored by God’s Green America, which was complete with bold color, fun prints, ruffles, and jewel accents.

I have always said that Abi’s clothes elicit certain feelings when they are worn, reaffirming confidence, sexiness, and radiance like I can do anything. And this collection only proves that theory.

After Abi’s show, I scooted over to the Setai where I caught the Nicole Miller Spring 2010 show. Here I saw lots of short dresses, stripes, ruching, and textured fabrics. Miller is renowned for her take on the party dress each season, and this showing reinforced her expertise and passion for this closet staple. One of my favorite parts of Nicole’s show were her “tie boys” clad in only her ties which she designed and underwear. Definitely a nice touch, Nicole!

Post show, I went backstage and chatted with Nicole Miller, who couldn’t have been more gracious and was thrilled at the turnout of people at her presentation, humidity and all!
