It seems like we are always on the search for the perfect red lipstick. One that will make our lips perfectly bold and beautiful, but not too orangey or blue. Also, one that doesn’t bleed outside of the lip-we aren’t trying to look like Vampire Diaries extras here!

And that is why I want to share with you one of my fave reds out there, Napoleon Perdis DeVine Goddess Lipstick in Aphrodite. It’s a very rich, blue-based (but not too blue) red that has a mostly matte finish with a little bit of shine. I have fairish, olive-toned skin and soft ombre (dirty blond/light brown) hair and I love the way Aphrodite complements my skin tone. Also, it goes on very smoothly, so you don’t have to worry as much about it being dry and catching on your lip, often causing mistakes. In fact, Aphrodite feels like it moisturizers instead of getting cakey and drying out.
The part that I love the most about this gorgeous red is that it lasts! Usually, I apply my lipstick right before I leave the house, after using a lip liner very close in tone. After applying Aphrodite, I can hit a red carpet event and interview celebs for a good two hours talking up a storm, and then go to dinner (without reapplying!) Genius! And the color still looks fresh. If you want the most intense color application, apply it straight from the tube. If not, use a lip brush, and then you can increase the intensity if you so desire.
