Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 has been in full swing, and nothing screams “Fashion Week” like a Chanel Runway show in Paris.
And this year’s celebrity attendees spanned all across the board, with a fairly international mix. Some celebrities in attendance included French actress Clotilde Hesme, Canadian actor Xavier Dolan, Australian film director Baz Luhrmann, English model Poppy Delevingne, Brazilian model Alice Dellal, Japanese-American model Kiko Mizuhara, TV Presenter Alexa Chung, French actresses Alma Jodorowsky and Ana Girardot, just to name a few.
While the front row was star-packed in its own respect, the runway show itself was brimming with some of fashion’s favorites. Among the beauties that walked were Gisele Bundchen, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Baptiste Giabiconi, Caroline De Maigret, and others.
The collection itself features classic designs that have been staples of the timeless Chanel look in which practicality and fashion find a happy middle ground. Wide trousers, cardigans, stripes, sweaters, and purses emblazoned with slogans were all stars of the line, with tweed enjoying a particular spotlight.
Even amidst all of that practicality, the line still made use of vibrant colors interwoven with ‘everyday” styles. At the conclusion of the show, models re-emerged with protest-laden placards that read things such as “Make fashion not war” and “tweed is better than tweet.” The mock protest met mixed reactions, and perhaps distracted the audience from the diverse and endlessly wearable collection, but the show, in total, did not disappoint.
